  • rv770_dpm_set_sw_state failed

    hello guys, so 'im receiving this error message when booting
    i'm using ubuntu 14.04 in a notebook with amd 4570



    i've tried googling and found some references but nothing pointing me how to fix it
    the system is running ok but i have this message every boot

    Do you have this file in your system? /lib/firmware/radeon/RV770_smc.bin
    From this: http://lxr.free-electrons.com/source...70_dpm.c#L1415 (man, this website is really useful) , I guess it either doesn't exist, or it fails to do something with it...
    I'm not a dev, so wait for them to reply, or ask them in IRC: freenode / #radeon
    BTW, the file is in the package linux-firmware (in Ubuntu, I dunno how it is called in other distros.)

      i do have the file and the package linux-firmware
      but i don't know what to do
      i'll try renaming the file to see if he is causing the bug

        i did revome that file and also updated the system but no change at all
        still the same message on boot

            I guess DPM is enabled by default these days, so did you try turning it off?
