    good point. The problem consists in KMS and when will that be a reality for nvidia drivers.

    100% true.. As an Radeon 2600 owner in one of my systems (HTPC) If I had a same generation nvidia card I would be able to play many of my Steam games.

    And the worst is not the performance but the artifacts and the graphics corruption..
