What I'd really like to see is a SystemD package manager. Then along with Wayland we'd have a unified core of a desktop/ laptop/ tablet/ phone operating system that significant numbers of developers might want to target
Don't even *think* about it. The truce between whether de facto package format should be deb or rpm holds for now. (I'm not saying the others are bad, they just tend to be used by one distribution only per package type that I'm aware of)
