Phoronix: GStreamer 1.4 Will Be Bringing Many New Features

GStreamer 1.4 is under heavy development ahead of its next release that's due out in March or April. Here's a look at some of the new features coming to this open-source multimedia framework relied upon by many Linux desktop applications. Among the best additions to GStreamer 1.4 is support for H.265, VP9, and Daala. Wayland is also now supported...

Just two things come to mind...
    1. why does GStreamer require Bluez support? Why does it need bluetooth? Wouldn't it be the application's duty to stream the video over a wireless connection, not the library's?
    2. How can something even have "initial support" for Daala, which AFAIK, is an incomplete spec subject to extreme changes. (Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to it highly, but it's not even "alpha" yet...)

What's already there can be implemented.
