    What do you think?
Plasma 2014.6? Are they on crack? Mandriva tried that once and went bankrupt. Ubuntu does date versions and loses money every day. Has there ever been successful Linux project with date versions?

Those are distros. This is just a package version. Most people just update their packages, why should they care what version format is used?

Are you saying that the version number is going to doom the project?

Is this some kind of "Evil Open Source Curse"?

There are plenty of alternative themes - people just need to stop judging an ENTIRE interface based on looking at screenshots for 2 minutes. I'm basing this off of the current version of plasma an KDE.

I know that you mean the window style. Here is however a great dark plasma theme http://caledonia.sourceforge.net .

BTW, anyone suggesting to develop and make decisions behind closed doors? heh, anyone?

Plasma has nothing to do with window styles. It's the taskbar and widget styles that constitute the Plasma theme. The default Plasma theme is called Air, but yes, there are plenty of Plasma (and window decoration, and widget colour, and icon, and cursor) themes available for download through the "Get new themes" buttons throughout the whole System Settings. It takes around two seconds to install a new theme that way.

Then they should change the window style. Defaults on KDE are bad. At least, there are option and configuration to change it.

In which we quickly talk about the members of the current Visual Design Group, hopes for more members and what we're looking for. Creati...

They're actively asking people to step up and contribute. Please do so, if you think you can fix the defaults.
