Phoronix: Linux 3.14 May Bring Big VMware GPU Driver Update

The other day I installed vmware 10.0.1 on Linux amd64, and wow, installing win7 amd64 on vmware took like 30 mins and all this time I couldn't even scroll in Firefox. Linux has very serious problems in certain I/O scenarios, it doesn't just crawl, it barely breathes. Any OS has issues when under I/O but Linux is worse hands down. Never tried BFS, perhaps it fixes the issue.

And that's with newer hw: 2TB HDD, Core i5, 4GB Ram, GTX 560Ti.

The point is: GPU acceleration isn't nearly the most disappointing experience for the Linux user, vmware it's not for games, if you use it for games it's your fault.
