    Cloud in a widget toolkit?
    Sounds like bloat!

    Soon Qt is gigabytes...

...It's no better than having Facebook Connect support in the password box. This kids is why having a for-profit company responsible for a major component is bad.

Or make that "for-profit company that's in a different business". RH or Cygnus haven't yet pulled shit like this.

Fortunately Qt 5 is modular, so you don't have to compile or deal with modules you don't use. No different from QML for widget users, or multimedia or positioning for developers that doesn't need that.

I don't understand their business model.

In this case, if someone wants to store and manage some services (like gigabytes of storage) in the cloud, he can do it using the related Qt libraries.

Like it was previously said, if someone doesn't need it, he doesn't have to use it.

In http://doc-snapshot.qt-project.org/qdoc/qtmodules.html we can see more modules, not only widgets; like Core (non-graphical classes), Multimedia, Sql, Network, etc.

Another subject is that having the information of someone "on the cloud" can be problematic (if someone has his information "on the cloud" and tomorrow he can't use internet, or if it was illegal that his information was there because it was also related to other people, or if a company is bought by another, etc.)

IOW "on the cloud" means your access can be restricted, your data read, deleted or changed. And it's your fault.

$149.00/month for 10 GB and 1,000,000 I/O events? This is not price competitive at all.

Compare Amazon S3: 10 GB, 1 GB out/month (in is always free), 250,000 put/copy/post/list events, 750,000 get events: $2.50/month! Even if you add in the use of a database service, you'd still be looking at somewhere between $10-$20/month. Who in the world would use Enginio at the prices they're listing?
