Hello everyone and sorry for my bad English
I don't know where to post this problem
I've been using Linux for a little more than a decade but I never had a big issue and/or made a bug report
I thought to post it here because I know there are people in this forum that maybe can help
And people searching for the same problem, maybe could find here a solution

PROBLEM:
Recently I started to play a few videogames on Linux using the Linux Steam Client
Games: Left 4 Dead 2, No More Room in Hell
When I have an hour or more playing, the system freezes completly, I can't do nothing, I have to use the Reset Button
I found in /var/log/syslog an error about i915 hangcheck blah blah blah...
kernel: [29255.991790] [drm:i915_hangcheck_elapsed] *ERROR* stuck on render ring
kernel: [29255.991795] [drm] capturing error event; look for more information in /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state
kernel: [29255.995602] [drm:i915_set_reset_status] *ERROR* render ring hung inside bo (0x5935000 ctx 1) at 0x59351d8

SOLUTION:
The first thing I thought was... ┐maybe is a temperature issue?
In the BIOS/UEFI, I manually changed the RPM CPU FAN to always MAXIMUM (2000 RPM)
I opened the computer case and place a big FAN (110v) near the computer case
Now I can kill zombies all day

SUGGESTIONS???
Is there a problem with the video driver?
the video driver doesn't know how to deal with the temperature?
the linux kernel doesn't know how to increase the CPU FAN RPM? I guess I'm going to use lm-sensor to see this
or the CPU/GPU temperature is a BIOS/UEFI problem?
or I'm living in hell and I need a better cooling system
any other suggestion?
