  • Status of Dual-Link DVI?

Hello all. I'm planning on buying a new machine this summer, and thanks to RadeonHD, I'm hoping to be able to get a machine running with two screens and all free drivers.

I took a look at the current RadeonHD status, though, and it said that dual screens are supported, but Dual-link DVI is untested. If the latter is untested, how can they have tested the former? Is it preferable to use two separate graphics cards? Is there anyone out there who is, in fact, using dual-link DVI and RadeonHD drivers? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Robert Bieber

Dual-link DVI is not related to dual screens.

Dual-link DVI is support for very high resolutions from one DVI connector (using extra pins).

Dual screens is having two DVI connectors on one graphics card, each connected to a monitor.

Oh, wow: I guess I was more confused than I thought I was :/

So then there's no issues with using two DVI ports on one card for dual screens?
