Thus it's unlikely now to see KWin OpenGL ES on the desktop even though there's the GLES drivers.
This might be bad for Wayland. Current QtWayland implementation requires Qt to be built with OpenGL ES2 support even on desktops.

Running KWin with OpenGL ES2 is still possible even on desktops, it only depends on how Qt is build.

        See Martin's Blog:
"So compiling against OpenGLES is only possible if Qt is compiled for OpenGLES"

But this will stick QtOpenGL to GLES, which is not compatible to opengl. I ran into that issue with piQtureGLide - did not build because I had built Qt with GLES...

Or, maybe Intel has EGL support for up to GL 3.3 and you can use _that_ with Wayland? I'm on binary nvidia.

I mean, to me EGL and desktop opengl are kinda oxymorons.

Sooo, new KDE is step back from what we have now? It seems new Qt brings more trouble and for now nothing good.
