I'm running hardy with tormod's xorg-pushers packages, using the radeon driver. To get suspend and hibernate to work, I specified these 3 quirks:

    "--quirk-vbestate-restore --quirk-vbemode-restore --quirk-vbe-post"

Hardy uses pm-suspend and pm-hibernate. So far the only problems are occasionally network has to be manually restarted and sometimes I have to suspend twice, because the first time the keyboard doesn't come back.

    Mobility X1400 (aka M54P)

    regards,

No matter whether I use framebuffer or not. But for me it was worse without it, I always got blank VTs.
What versions of packages are you using?
And how do you exactly resume? pm-utils?
      hibernate-script works flawlessly http://www.tuxonice.net/
