PyPy 2.2 Python Is Now Even Faster
Phoronix: PyPy 2.2 Python Is Now Even Faster
The JIT compiler based PyPy alternative to Python is now up to version 2.2. This Python 2 alternative is now even faster than earlier releases...
This is a really interesting project.
I hope this becomes the default implementation of Python eventually.
I don't think that is ever going to happen. Further, if my understanding is correct the pypy maintainers don't want it to be. It provides some major benefits for certain use-cases, but also has drawbacks for others.
