    Hey I am new to using Linux and I enabled the nVidia video driver when i first installed it now when i restart it starts fine i can log in and everything but the screen is black like theres a video problem but when i reinstall ubuntu it works fine without the driver enabled and the os wont let me do some things without it enabled?? I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to install a driver or disable the driver so i dont have to reinstall? any help would be much apprieciated thx

    It might be helpful if you include the current kernel and distribution you are using along with errors, useing a terminal give results of.
    egrep '^\((EE|WW)\)' /var/log/Xorg.0.log
    another helpful thing is when you have a working xorg.conf make a backup of it to something like xorg.conf.bak then you can get back to
    a working copy without too much trouble.. good luck.
