    Whatever happened to this?

The project seems to have been funded, and he posted a fairly recent update (June):

Improvement of libbluray is nice, but I'm more interested in decryption. Discs encrypted with AACS can be decrypted using http://www.videolan.org/developers/libaacs.html (+ keys database of course). But what about BD+ (alternative to the AACS)? Few months ago I could read there exists libbdplus, but it can't be released because of some legal reasons. Now I can't find any news about this library.

Does anyone know what has happened to the libbdplus?

Meh, it's still way not worth it to use Blu-ray. Even if it was possible to break the DRM, the action of doing so is questionable at best.

I've just found libmmbd. It's a library that provides decryption of both: AACS and BD+ and emulates (provides) the same API as libaacs and (never released) libbdplus. Hooray!

          P.S.
I don't really wan to discuss the purpose of using Blu-Ray discs. Some people buy it because like it, some because they enjoy DTS-HD Master Audio, I don't really focus on the reasons. I just like the idea of Linux supporting that formats/encryptions

MakeMKV works very nice with encrypted BDs with newest AACS and BD+: http://www.makemkv.com
            But not OSS.

MakeMKV may not be open source, but libmmbd (I guess MakeMKV uses it) seems to be LGPL. And Linux users can simply use libmmbd with other players (MPlayer for example).

That appears to be a reasonable compromise, considering that BD+ crap is blobish anyway.
