Is it Open Source? With a dash, even?

I seem to remember that 1, it didn't work with NoScript on
NO! Say it ain't so! A javascript implementation of flash did not work without javascript.

So in the end you came to say that it doesn't work for your pc yet.

No kidding guys, so why have you changed my settings to use this one? I expect Shumway to be similar. At least there is a decent reason to create it, given the problems with Flash and Adobe's dropping support.

By the way, is the Firefox PDF reader good yet? Is there any reason at all to use it?
The built-in pdf reader (pdf.js) is pretty darn good, actually. I've never had a problem in the latest iterations rendering math-symbol-heavy documents. (Maybe graphics-heavy documents are another story?) A lot of people don't want to even install acroread on their systems so the only option to get inline pdf viewing in Firefox is via pdf.js. (Well there *were* other options of embedding e.g. Okular in Firefox but I don't know if they still exist and they're nasty anyway.) It is a bit resource-heavy, for sure, but still worth using if you have a modern-ish PC where you won't notice it.

I imagine Shumway will never really be usable compared to the outdated linux flash plugin provided by Adobe. That's ok though, because hopefully by the time Shumway catches up, we won't even need flash players!

I hope this never reaches official release status. Flash MUST die and all the plugins with it.

The Okular plugin hasn't gone anywhere and IMO is still much better then pdf.js, especially for large files (tens/hundreds of pages or with images). It renders new pages significantly faster, and seems to be better at caching them if I want to go back to a page I already looked at.

While pdf.js has got a lot better since I first tried it (I still try it once in a while to see how it's doing) it still can't beat a proper document viewer written in a sensible language.

                People want porn.
                People do not want ads.

Reason people install Flash is to watch porn, not to watch ads.

So porn is the only thing that is keeping Flash alive.

So Youtube has HTML5 on mobile and optional HTML5 mode also on PC, correct?

While the porn sites have HTML5 on mobile but only Flash on PC?

Why can't they enable it also on PC? This way Flash will be no longer needed...

I guess because they have flash ads.
