Well it seems i still have them (kernel 3.12 rc2+, from git) if i use exa. Glamor on the other hand is stable. No idea why.

I looked around a bit and i see that the /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libexa.so file is part of the xserver-xorg-core package and it is not changed by compiling xf86-ati. Maybe there is some issue involving the self-compiled xf86-ati and the x server's exa implementation?
Glamor maybe works stable because all of its components are compiled along with the new mesa/xf86-ati?
This might indicate that my freezes were in fact caused by 2 components: the radeon driver itself (that was experienced by many other users and probably fixed by 3.12 rc1/2) and the Deban testing x server's incompatibility with the newly compiled components' exa implementation which is bugging me now...Comment
