Providing a flicker-free user experience right from the moment Ubuntu boots without noticable "black screens" when switching from the boot logo to the login screen or to the user session. (like OS X does since 10.7).

I think this is useful for emulators, which app developers need to build apps for Ubuntu Phone. What I don't understand is why would you need that on Android if you are going to be developing your apps on desktop Ubuntu anyway.

Emulator for developing Ubuntu Touch Apps, Developing DEs.
I used this on X one time when I wanted to run Spotify (wine)
in a separate session so that I could extract playing info
before the Linux version with MPRIS was available.

From my understanding this is Mir running on top of Android, aka Ubuntu On Android.
