Valve sure is releasing linux ports quickly, i guess not too long before they have finished all their own titles. Once that has happened i guess we will be seeing steam box along with half life 3 and left 4 dead 3 on launch day for steambox and pc i would suspect.

Gabe Newell say just over 4 months ago to the bbc that the steambox would be shown in 3-4 months, that was about 2 weeks ago so any time soon i guess.

Now you have forgot that Valve uses another time standard than the rest of the world. 4 moths of Valve time is somewhere between 5-18 months of real time, probably around 6-8 months though.

        Flickering textures

I can see flickering textures in Dota 2 using gallium r600g driver (the latest git) on radeon 4850

Then report this bug, otherwise they won't fix it.

I just tested Dota 2 on Nouveau, I've also got artifacts. The game is totally unplayable, yet the frame rate is about 40 FPS which is playable (against bots at lest). Apparently on mesa master there's no problems (for Nouveau). I'm still waiting for my slow internet to download the source & dependencies.

Tested on Kubuntu 13.10 (development branch)
              Kernel: 3.10.0-3-generic
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on NV96
OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 9.1.4
              libdrm-nouveau2:amd64: 2.4.45-2ubuntu1

Unplayable on intel hd4000 dota2 ..., 5/10 fps..., with mesa 9.2 git :/, but left 4 dead 2 beta had a good performance.

Playable pretty well with intel 4000 after reducing the quality a bit.

Working great for me. I am using a 480 setup in SLI but the second card is not doing anything. Using the latest proprietary Nvidia Drivers. (actually now that I think about it, no game I have played has used the second Nvidia card) Running Manjaro X64 Cinnamon Edition.
