      What kind of improvement are we talking about? Is fastboot just about boot times?

        Ok, so it boots one millionth of one second faster, but at the expense of "it doesn't turn on your LCD backlight". Totally awesome.

          Sounds like their trying to reduce the initialization time for their drivers.... which initialize in about 1/1000 of a second anyway.

            It tries to get rid of a potential 2s or so delay in the boot time due to panel power sequencing, but can affect other mode sets too, speeding them up if the configurations match.
