You offer us the option to use the old site theme, or I'll have no choice but to do it myself.
The option may be given to premium users.

Thank you. I will re-try buying the premium subscription now.

I have had problems with the payment system in the past, which ultimately prevented me from buying Phoronix Premium. (I also contacted you about this back then, don't know if you remember me)

What a ridiculously misaligned unprofessional page. The creator must already suffer eye-cancer from the current design...

Why change the site if you are not adding any worthwhile features?

            Google Currents

Michael, please produce content of Phoronix for tablets and phones using Google Currents. Producing is easy! https://www.google.com/producer

If you don't know the Google Currents, please test it yourself: https://www.google.com/producer/currents

As far as I know, Google Currents has limited advertising possibilities? If so, no.

Well, the current mobile advertising makes the site almost unusable on mobile devices anyway... limited advertising as a trade off for people browsing it more.

Michael, I know you have a distaste for ad blockers, but I thought I'd point out that ABP has a means of getting certain ad providers whitelisted by default, so long as they follow these criteria:
Adblock Plus introduces the Acceptable Ads initiative: Support websites that rely on advertising but choose to do it in a nonintrusive way.

You may or may not find the terms too stringent, but I think they at least provide some basic ideas as to what constitutes unobtrusive ads (and therefore ads more likely to be unblocked).

Ads like that would bankrupt Phoronix... They bring in about a 20th of the revenue of normal ads.

Honestly what you should do is serve the nice ads to people with an ad blocker, and the awful ones to the rubes.

But your ad provider probably would have to implement that themselves, i'd guess.
