Congratulation to Debian team on release a new major version.

Already on the torrent to download and check it out, even if not usually my side of the fence.

        Yay!
...if only because I'm waiting for the lesstif->libmotif migration to hit, which may happen for Jessie if Paul Gevers has his way.

This install is pointing at squeeze (now oldstable), my alternate is currently sid/experimental.

All these "new" features sound like dejavu.

That probably means you're not the user target for Debian stable....
Many of these new Debian 7.0 features are items that came to other Linux distributions long ago, but this is simply the pace at which Debian prefers to play.

Released? Good. So that means we can finally see a more recent gnome version (3.8...) in Sid sooner or later?

Probably. There are already some 3.8 packages in experimental that were just waiting for freeze to end. The same thing goes for xfce 4.10 (which is what I've been waiting on). I've been contemplating moving from aptosid to siduction, since siduction offered its own xfce 4.10 repo (among other reasons).

                    ?

I wonder why they are releasing it when there are still six critical bugs left?

I think I will wait a while longer Debian Squeeze is still working fine for me but I am looking forward to upgrading soon! Good job Dev's!
