Phoronix: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS vs. Ubuntu 13.04 Benchmarks

For those that may be currently running Ubuntu 12.04.2 as the latest Ubuntu Linux Long-Term Support release but are considering upgrading to Ubuntu 13.04 for better performance, here are benchmarks comparing the two Ubuntu Linux releases when tested on an Apple MacBook Pro and Lenovo ThinkPad. Overall, there's a few areas where the new Ubuntu Linux release delivers worthwhile performance improvements over the year-old Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

Wow, this is excellent. Ubuntu 13.04 is shaping up to be an amazing release, especially with the performance increases. Windows and Mac are not progressing nearly this fast. LINUX FTW!

Ubuntu 10.10, 12.04 and 13.04 are great. 11.04, 11.10 and especially 12.10 were such crap i almost dropped ubuntu. But 13.04 honestly seems like THE BEST distro i have ever used. If only they accepted that upstart is trumped by systemd :/

OK, it could be better, but why should they overhaul the entire system to use systemd right now when upstart is doing the job?
