I packaged that driver, but is is hard to see any diff:
    Code:
    $ LANG= diff -Nru  beta6 beta7|grep -v ^Binary

You can only see that with amdcccle when you reset defaults (for ubuntu):
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install screen
    sudo screen sh -c '/etc/init.d/lightdm stop;sleep 5;rmmod fglrx;rm -f /etc/ati/amdpcsdb;/etc/init.d/lightdm start'
    For kdm users:
    Code:
    sudo screen sh -c '/etc/init.d/kdm stop;sleep 5;rmmod fglrx;rm -f /etc/ati/amdpcsdb;/etc/init.d/kdm start'

Anyone test if backlight adjustment in laptops is working? Would save me the disappointment :/

Just tested and ... no. Still the same issue for me.

I have to say that I don't see that many changes over the passing beta releases of this driver : still needs "version.h" file, that seems to have disappeared from recent Fedora kernels (had to copy it from include/generated/uapi/linux/version.h), stills needs VM_RESERVED symbol (that don't exists anymore since 3.7 kernels [or something like that] had to define it to 0 at the top of firegl_public.c) and still can't adjust backlight.

FEAR the official 13.2 release, then ...

Of course, it works [backlight control] - Please enter a grub entries. See how these drivers work under my kernel v23.0 [Brazos version - based on the Linux-3.8.0]:

The issue of same driver version beta7 ... I have mixed feelings - on the one hand little faster, but sometimes they can be gently 'freeze' - practically did not exist in beta6.

            Greetings

If you look at that page it seems that every new Beta release has some improvements for Crysis 3. This looks like the devs are playing Crysis 3 the whole day and only fix/improve things if something is not working on that game.

At this pace of development we can see support for the now over two months old 3.7 kernel when 3.10 is released and 3.7 already EOL.

New features etc. are not coming until a new branch, like 13.3 Beta or 13.4 Beta. You need to understand how the driver model works.

I hope this is a sign of AMD stepping up the Fglrx driver development. Betas before releases is a very good idea, but please provide changelogs!
