My wish is F2FS to eventually replace exFAT for removable media. But it won't happen because it seems that the only thing that the industry values is compatibility with Microsoft products (instead of the other way around, where Microsoft should be forced to be compatible with open standards), despite of being subject to patent licensing.

Well the good news is that this may well be changing. Microsoft is no longer in the dictator position it once was, because there are options now and manufacturers are starting to see it. If android devices start using F2FS instead of lard, that's a huge market segment right there that manufacturers aren't likely to ignore.
