No, it didn't mention ANY provider that will be picking up the phone as of this date. Nor do I think it mentioned that it turns into the FULL ubuntu desktop when docked to a hdmi capable tv and usb keyboard mouse combo. I found that detail on the ubuntu blog.

Mark said the first Ubuntu for Android high-end devices are shipping H2 2013.
Ubuntu Phone OS powered phones will ship in early 2014.
It is running X.org at the moment and uses Qt5 QML for native applications.
They target low-end and high-end devices equally.

Really? How they achieve X.Org Server running on top of Android drivers that doesn't support GLX?

They could just distribute it as an app and then anyone with appropriate hardware can run it.

Don't need no steenkin' dedicated phone.

Why not? Ubuntu on your phone uses the same kernel as android and runs concurrently with android.

Why not? A linux desktop is really just an app anyways. Even on a standard x86 system the desktop is just another package that you install.

It's an app that runs other apps, but it's an app.
