Phoronix: Red Orchestra 2 Might Be Ported To Linux

Earlier this month the first Unreal Engine 3 game that's native to Linux was released, thanks to the work of Ryan "Icculus" Gordon. Now with UE3 being "officially" ported to Linux in a released game, after Unreal Tournament 3 for Linux failed to be released, other UE3-based games have hope for a Linux debut...

Great news! Tripwire seems to continue to deliver..

Bought everything for Killing Floor, bought everything for Red Orchestra, and will buy everything for Red Orchestra 2. Yes, bought reskinned weapons DLC pack too.

Killing Floor is really cool, but some Xmas achievements are very hard to get, like did you play dwarfs! for the axe (no Linux port) then then kill 30 fleshpounds from BEHIND when they usually always look at you (they are very rare too, only wave 7-10 or so).

Sounds good! I am casual gamer but old timer in gaming. That is, in my opinion games should be hard, so that skill is needed to win them or to get achievements.

KF is co-operative game, so have you tried MP to get Fleshpound achievements? A fleshpound should not be able to face to two directions in the same time.

That though is bad if some achievements are not possible to get in GNU/Linux.

Is that game still buggy mess or have they fixed it?

Dunno, I own a copy of RO2, but haven't tried it a single time.

In Steam forum people complain mainly about RO2 being more arcade and having less vehicles than RO.

I'm playing it with Crossover - the graphics are just amazing and superb, as is the experience.

Getting pretty funky colors unfortunately with the Unreal engine.
