So I need a new graphics card and I'm leaning toward one of these at the moment:
Partly because performance numbers (in Windows) show this as the price/performance champ at the moment, and partly because of this review:
Which has this particular model as especially quiet. It's been a long time since I've had an Nvidia card though and I've heard some negative things about the state of their more recent proprietary Linux driver and, additionally, this is a new card and sometimes Linux drivers lag behind the ones for Windows. So I thought I'd ask and see if anyone has any experience with this or can give me any encouragement about Nvidia's Linux support in general. I'm okay with using the closed proprietary driver.
My number two choice is one of these:
Which really isn't too far behind the 650 Ti in either noise or performance, so feedback on that is also welcome. Thanks for any help in general.
I'm pairing this with an Athlon II x3 @ 3.1 GHz, and usually run OpenSUSE.
