Hi there,
So after years of having no real issues with Catalyst, recently HDMI output stopped working on my laptop (which has a Radeon HD 4200). I can't tell for sure what caused it, it was likely either my distribution update from openSUSE 12.1 to 12.2 or a driver update from an older Catalyst version to 12.6-legacy. HDMI output surely worked on my setup before though with openSUSE 12.1 and an older Catalyst release.
I don't get any output at all on my TV even though it seems to be recognized properly. Here's a screenshot from KDE's display configuration:
LVDS is my laptop's display, DFP1 is the TV I'm trying to connect. Strangely enough when I select "Identify Outputs", the DFP1 label appears on my laptop display (yes I'm sure my laptop is LVDS because that's what gets displayed when no TV is connected). Disabling the laptop display and only using the TV display doesn't help, either.
I'm really kinda lost at this because I don't even have any idea what logs to look at. Neither Xorg.log nor dmesg seem to show any useful information, but I pastebin'ed Xorg.log anyway at http://pastebin.com/nduf6upj because I'm sure other people will have a better idea of what's going on there.
I'd be really happy if anyone could point me in the right direction here, thanks!
