    Here is the KDE 4 release schedule for the next couple of months, as shared this morning at the KDE 4.0 release event keynote by Aaron Seigo. KDE 4.0.1 will be released later this month with minor maintenance releases coming every month...

    sounds reasonable. i wouldn't expect 4.1 any sooner.

      Hopefully KDE 4.1 will be more polished, and therefore a better replacement for KDE 3. The polish, after all, is KDE's big advantage over any competing systems.

        I am sure it will be more polished than 4.0 since this one was just meant for developers to allow porting their apps. It was not intended for desktop end users. It just defines a rather fixed api to work with.

        I think 4.1 will be very usable, at least once 4.1.1 is out it will be an alternative to the then available KDE 3.5.9.
