      OK, this is a distro, wasn't clear to me when I read headline and teaser. What is special about this one? Any special goals? Couldn't really find it in their wiki.

        It's basically Mandriva, but it's community driven.

            Yea, it's my second preferred distribution. And at this point, it is probably branched enough to be quite different from Mandriva. Hopefully it will work out for them the same way it worked out for LibreOffice!

              Well, some of Mandrivs?s future releases will be based on Mageia. So one one hand the gap will be closed again and OTOH they proved to be a credible upstream.
