    Hey i'd installed dreamlinux and it has a good eyecandy xfce desktop. they say its has default installed xgl driver and i wonder if its good for gaming in linux. can anyone review it or ca i request for a review for this.

    I think we need to be perfectly clear of what you are referring to...

    If it's XGI drivers that means you have an XGI graphics card and they aren't very nice as far as I've heard (at least the windows drivers).

    I do have read before that the last driver release could run Doom 3.

    IF you are referring to X gl drivers (which I theorize means open GL drivers), I have no idea because much of it rests on the graphics card you have.

      I think he is referring to XGL as in the X server. Simply put, it's not the best for gaming and you're better off eliminating XGL during gaming. What graphics card are you using?

          What games do you expect to play with that card? There aren't too many these days that will run smooth with that card, and XGL likely will be very slow.

            Older 3d games should work with that card. He should probably get the nvidia legacy drivers though.
