    Good news.

Hopefully GLES 3.0 becomes a "base line" target across all platforms (except for Windows 8 which is killing off everything but DX11 support in Metro), so going forward, application developers can improve quality without worrying their software wont run on OSS Linux driver.

As a first gen Core i3 owner, I?m not too impressed. (According to the photo on Ian?s blog, first gen Intel HD Graphics isn?t supported.) My computer isn?t even 2 years old. But then it?s too slow and/or buggy for most 3D games of the past decade anyway.

So if this was to become a ?baseline target?, many people would not be able to run new 3D software. I don?t think it?s a good idea to force people to buy new computers every year.
