Phoronix: Nouveau X.Org Driver Less Than 30k Lines Of Code

After delivering some development statistics on the xf86-video-nouveau driver yesterday, today there's a look at the development activity surrounding xf86-video-nouveau. This is the X.Org driver for Nouveau, the reverse-engineered open-source NVIDIA driver...

hmm, just looking at the figures and the comments

    29/204 is a little less than 1/7 not 1/10
    29/61 is roughly 1/2 not 1/3

So the Nouveau X.Org driver is a tenth the size of Intel's driver and a third the size of ATI's driver.

Wasn't yesterday's article about "-intel" rather than -nouveau ?

Maybe because nouveau's X.org part is nearly complete and it is slowly stabilizing?

The hardest work for it goes in the kernel - there's a ton of work to be done for the kernel part. 3D acceleration, MEM/GPU frequency changes, suspend, HDMI audio, proper output support, etc. - you name it.
