  • Fedora Core 8 + fglrx + compiz works, but flashing video

I have X1300, Fedora Core 8, fglrx 8.42.3, and compiz fusion working. However video output using xvideo and opengl results in flashing. Ideas?

It's a known bug, and so far, nobody has found a solution to that. Wait for the next driver release.

as I known, we do have a solution for this bug,but recompile mplayer is needed.

here is a patch for mplayer:

after download and untar mplayer source code, patch mplayer use "patch -p0 vo_xv.c mplayrepatch.patch", then open the fusion-icons video playback plugin, try use "mplayer -v -vo xv xxxx" play your video file and look for somehting like

[xv] Detected wm supports compiz video.
[xv] using compiz composited XXXX output

      in the output.

      your problem should be resolved.
