Phoronix: Wayland Is Not For End-Users In Ubuntu 12.04

Two days ago I wrote about Wayland's Weston compositor landing in the Ubuntu 12.04 repository, which excited many Linux desktop users. However, for those thinking that Wayland/Weston is ready for end-users with next month's Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin", that is not the case...

I think you meant "but for others it really isn't time to leave X quite yet"

      Where do I get started?

You seem to know what needs to happen next:
      - More apps working on Wayland
      - Desktops & Browsers getting Wayland support

So if a like-minded programmer (as many here are) want to lend a hand, where do we get started? What's the welcome place to jump in? Where's the (pseudo-)spec and the non-conformant app code that should be put together to get this rolling the fastest?
