    i have fx6100 on gigabye mobo

    trying to find a way to see cputemp without going into bios

    ubuntu 10.10 detects this

        lmsensors is for checking temperature, not for controlling it. Controlling works via cpu-governours, be sure to enable amd driver an set default governour to ondemand or conservative. You can watch the current state with cpufreq-info.

        Additionally cpu itself has overheat protection, so it wont overheat, it will start skipping cycles.

          thank you i have frequency scaling enabled
          i would like to have coretemp in the panel
          a while back i had a temperature applet from
          apple that worked but i cant find it anymore
