Phoronix: Google's Picasa 2.7 Beta For Linux

If GIMP 2.4.0 doesn't meet your needs for photo editing or captioning and F-Spot doesn't suit you well, Google has released a beta 2.7 version of Picasa for Linux. Picasa for Linux premiered last year and uses WINE as opposed to a full-blown native port.

I really, really like Picasa for Linux. However, I wish it would index my videos (even if it doesn't support playing them!)

Also worth mentioning is bibble Pro from bibblelabs.com
I use it for all my photo editing now, and with multithreaded rendering it works very well with an SMP system. While its not free, its so much quicker to work with than picasa or photoshop and comes linux native!

I'd much rather see a Linux native version of Sketchup.
