  • rv280 2d patterned line drawing

    Hi folks,

I'm in the process to enhance an old driver for old hardware on AmigaOS.
I'd like to implement patterned line drawing acceleration but can't get it to work no matter what I try.
    Lines are always drawn solid.

Solid line drawing is working and also pattern blitting.

I'm trying to make soemthing of the linux sources but I'm a bit lost when it comes to the LINE_PATCOUNT register.
I really don't get how its supposed to work.

Is patterned line drawing working on these old puppies at all ?

Maybe there is a knowledgeable person out there who might be so kind to enlighten me a bit ?
    I'd be very greatful.

    Thanks
    Tobias

Hi. i am just an user of rv280 and mostly current linux stack.

Draw operation with KMS are deadly slow, so don't look in that code. I think devs just get it for free from Xorg's acceleration architecture
, so it remain in software - no GPU accelaration.

It is better with UMS and EXA and even faster with now removed XAA.

P.S. No, no, i'm not sarcastic, rv280 is just unusable with current stack.
