Did this ever get fixed? I (think) I have an IOMMU Linux 3.2 issue. I'm running gentoo with an AMD processor and Nvidia graphics. I have IOMMU enabled in my bios (so I can run virtualboxes and not have the performance crappy). Upgrading to Linux 3.2, X11 fails to start. After some hours spent googling, I disabled IOMMU and X11 started happy again. I tried this on 3.2.0, 3.2.1, 3.2.2, 3.2.5, 3.2.6 and had the same problem each time.
