q35 intel chipset on Linux

Does anyone succeeded to run Linux with Q35 intel chipset? My Fedora7 Xorg does not work no matter what I try.

Okay, define "does not work"? Care to share a little more info? We might be able to help sort out the problem you've got.

I've got a first question for you to answer: Are you using ANY SATA chains on this board and it sports ANY PATA chains on it?

My bad... I should've given more detailed description.
Basically, my graphics works only with vesa driver.
When I try i810 or iegd I get 'no devices detected' in /var/log/Xorg.log
Also lspci shows
Intel Corporation Integrated Graphics Controller
(a general description, but no specifics)
I tried downloading newer i810 and installing iegd from Intel site but it did not help.

I am not sure about SATA chains, i think i have a single SATA drive. Is there a way to check it?

Check the driver

Are you sure about that driver? The Intel Q35 chipset includes the Intel GMA 3100 video adapter, their latest integrated video chipset...

Yes. Apparently i have an old driver. But where do I get the new one if downloading from intel does not help?

You need at least Xserver 1.3 + kernel 2.6.22.
