  • 1gb Duo 7690 support?

I'm thinking about buying a HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition series with an Amd Radeon 1gb Duo graphics. From searching, I think it is a Radeon 7690m xt chip but I have not been able to find out if I can run linux on it.

Anyone know if I will have a shot of running linux on this laptop? Or could point me some place where I can find out?

I usually run Mint Linux but it doesn't have to be that distro.

and the new chips already do have catalyst/fglrx support.

    so yes linux will run.
Thanks, I appreciate the help. It has not been easy to find info on the 7690. I did find a post in another forum where someone thought that it was basically the same as the 6770m.

I might go with that laptop.
