    Which users are repeatably having an issue with semaphores and RC6? Is it everyone, or just specific ASICs? If it's a feature that will take a long time to fix for everyone, maybe a hardware whitelist for the ones that don't seem to have the problem? Just a thought.

      sure that the kernel command is i915.i916_enable_rc6=1 ?

      i think it has to be i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 or am i wrong?

        Yeah, that's a typo. It's i915.i915_enable_rc6=1 (yes, it really has i915 twice).
