Same card as me (if it's got 512 mem).

I have to set the aperture size in bios to 512, so if you haven't already try changing that. There are threads where people have only needed 128 etc - I guess it's a mobo specific thing.

If that doesn't work you may be able to get 2D only by blacklisting your <chipset>-agp module in /etc/modules.conf.

Using older drivers like 8.40.4 should work for 3D, but performance may not be as good for modern games.

• Are you paying attention to the driver's testing in every chip you have released? how do you test a driver that's coming out? My X200 integrated graphic chip has had a terrible scrambling bug with Option VideoOverlay turned on in xorg.conf, a very annoying one... could this bug be fixed? or are you ignoring bugs reported for older pieces of hardware?

• Make the driver built under 2.6.25 kernel please!!!

• linzerd: not sure if we test on every chip (I doubt it, there are literally hundreds of supported chips) but we do test on a pretty good selection and rotate through from one release to the next. If you see a really bad problem there's a pretty good chance that we did not see it on our test systems. AGP is the obvious exception -- it's a lot less fun now that mobo vendors have generally stopped providing BIOS updates for their AGP products.

I think there is an Xpress200 in the test mix but will check.

• White Textures - OpenGL Windows & Linux ATI Xn00

Texturing stopped working on ATI Xn00 cards with the OGRE rendering engine between version 7.11 and 7.12 - current. This bug affects both windows and linux. There were minimal changes between these two driver versions so hopefully you can resolve this.

The terrain appears white when using the OpenGL render system on ATI cards from driver version Catalyst 7.12(Dec 07) - 8.4 (current).

Could you please let me know, if you are willing to investigate this or if it is not significant enough for you.

• I now know I shouldn't even dare to ask, but when may we see Xorg 1.5 support?
afaik we'll need dri2 support for that, too, don't we?

I'd really like to see these features as I want to install fedora 9 next month

• I d like to say again that I think it would be better the company to give out any new featured code as beta downloads for the community to test and give feedback...
I strongly believe that you will be surprised by the results...

In that way you will have a great number of testers in a great number of hardware combinations and developing would be far easier and faster cause the fglrx team wouldn't have to waste so much time testing and testing...

It's the other way around I think. Dri2 is only in Xorg 1.5, but most drivers in Xorg 1.5 don't have dri2 support. I'm currently running radeon/r300_dri in a Xorg 1.5rc, and it doesn't have dri2 support yet.

• Component Output from X1250 to TV?

I just started a thread on this topic before I realized this might be the better place for the question. How do I get component output to a TV working with the fglrx ATI driver and an Integrated X1250? I'm using the latest drivers (8.4) and I can get a picture, but it is grey (monochrome). I have tried various options in my xorg.conf file and have succeeded in getting the picture to become very blue (or very red). I've spent many hours googling, and have tried many options, but I can't seem to get better than this. The S-Video connection displays fine and looks good. I've attached my xorg.conf for reference (and you'll see it's been heavily hacked up). I'm using the fr_client layout in the xorg config file. Anyone have any ideas to try?

This is not the right place for questions regarding the fglrx driver.

@ati staff
I don't want to bother anyone, but are there any updates regarding R600 and tcore docs?
I read something here at phoronix about a good chance that they should have been released at the last xorg event @ google (can't remember the name ).
But I haven't heard anything new since then.
