    Phoronix: SilverStone RVS02 SATA Enclosure

For those in the market for a 2.5-inch external hard drive enclosure that supports Serial ATA 3.0 and works well with Linux while being a well-designed and effective product, being looked at today on Phoronix is the SilverStone Raven RVS02 disk enclosure.

No better time for such a review, as I`m looking to buy an external disk for backups.

However, I would love to see a similar test, but with a classic, 7200rpm hard disc mounted, for us who can not afford to backup on ssd

Can USB-3 offer any advantage over USB-2 or perform similar to direct sata?

I can do the math on my own, but would appreciate any real-life numbers.

    Cheers
