Recent Mesa git builds break Opera 12 and Chromium GPU acceleration on R600g

Has anyone else noticed this?

Go to opera:about and it will say "Failed to create 2d objects".

This just started a couple days ago. Also affects Chromium even though it doesn't complain, it starts doing weird stuff with OpenGL composting on.

File a bug (https://bugs.freedesktop.org) and bisect if possible. Also, if you are building mesa yourself, make sure you rerun autogen.sh (or configure depending on how you build) and make clean before rebuilding.
