      It's hard to find such info so please answer me - does ownCloud offer any storage service on any servers like Dropbox or Ubuntu One do or the only way to use it is to install on our own servers?

        The entire idea with ownClowd is to store the data on your own server, it should be obvious from the first paragraph of the announcement linked in the article.
