    Phoronix: Intel Driver Is Now Doing Triple-Bufferred Page-Flips

    The Intel Linux X.Org driver is now doing triple-buffered page-flips in the latest attempt to battle in-perfect frames with tears or jitters. This is now the default behavior with the next xf86-video-intel release...

    Interesting. Though not fast by any stretch, my best Linux/GUI experience has been powered by an Intel 4500MHD. I appreciate the work they put into their drivers. If only they supported the Gallium framework.

    I can't wait to try this... since tearing is such an issues with the high powered games I play ;-)

      "in-perfect"????
      Do you mean "imperfect"?

      And "hitters" == "jitters"?

      Please PLEASE proof read before posting....

        Oooh, me want this for radeon very very badly... KWin frame skipping is slowly, but surely, getting on my nerves.

          Could that help for suppressing tearing in videos when compositing is enabled? I don't think so, but who knows...
