I have this bug on ubuntu natty(most likely something with unity or new compiz)....I just figured out that u can fix this by adding:
    Option "SWCursor" "true"
to the device section of our xorg.conf, however the cursor does a fair bit of flashing and and disappears when not being moved when u use this option, unless I find a way to fix this behavior I'll prob just go back to 11.4 because so far I haven't noticed any significant improvements. It makes u think, did they just release the same driver with a new version number on it? No changes, or bug fixes have been mentioned that I know of

I still need to use SWCursor, otherwise I can't see the cursor on external screen.

Speaking of which, another German seems to have something similar for openSUSE, linking here to the version for Catalyst 11.4 since XvBA is mentioned. No I don't speak German so I couldn't make any sense out of what they talked about :P

I can, a little bit :P. I'll check it out this evening, see if it's any good.

Come to think of it ... I think I did create an xorg.conf. Maybe I should remove that and try again. Not that there's anything special in there, but maybe it makes a difference.

on natty with Mobility Radeon HD 4650.

No problems here except fgl_glxgears showing a bizarre draw rate. Which occurred when I upgraded to natty.

Compile fails under Debian Sid (2.6.39-2)

Compiling under Debian Sid with 2.6.39-2 fails with smp_(un)lock.
Why is this still happening ?!? I really don't get it...

              After applying
              wget http://www.mindwerks.net/wp-content/...6.39_bkl.patch
              wget http://www.mindwerks.net/wp-content/...3/no_bkl.patch

it compiled. Started dolphin-emu, and a few seconds later it crashed. Started again, a few seconds later whole machine freezes, no magic keys would work.

Back to 11.5 and everything is okay. But had to apply the same patches.
