  • Overclock + linux ?

Hey, ive ran a server now for about a year now. its a amd 64 3000+ with 2gb geil memory, runs at 460 mhz memory and 2.6 ghz.. so 600 mhz overclock, which is tested to be stabile.
Well, may oc seriously fuck up linux, or is it kind of proof against reboots ?

my server had uptime on 90 days eachtime i rebooted, works lovely, i wanna test 2.7 ghz on it.

and btw, any benchmarks out there for linux ?..

You should be careful with testing OC settings with Linux. Especially reiserfs gets killed very easyly. NTFS/FAT does not kill itself so fast when RAM/CPU errors occur.

Use a live cd for testing and don't mount any hd partiton.

          hehe..

okey, so ill prolly just use a fat32 Memstick and do livecd for testing then.
