Hi,
I switched from gnome to KDE 4.6 (on arch) and have a problem with the ati drivers (I have a 4870x2):
I use the proprietary driver fglrx (11.3 and since yesterday 11.4), which worked fine for me under gnome, but now with KDE the graphics card doesn't go into power-saving mode. So the fan is really loud all the time and with "aticonfig --odgc" I see that the core clock is at maximum. Under gnome the core frequency was not so high and the card managed to go into powersaving mode.
I managed to change the core frequency with "aticonfig --od-setclocks=507,0", but the core voltage stays the same.
Can anybody help me and tell me how to force the card to dynamically change core voltage and frequency?
Thanks,
Matse
